Formally Loral Data Systems Inc, L3 Communications manufacture a range of aircraft flight data, cockpit voice and combination recorders.

These recorders have accident protected memory modules that comply with the latest regulatory standards and are mandatory on most aircraft on the public transport register.

Since these devices are considered 'no-go' items (i.e. the aircraft can not fly without them) the company maintains a comprehensive stock holding of servicing parts for the product range and the new range of Solid State FDR's.

Another new developement is the "one box" solution MADRAS unit, which incorporates CVR/FDR and FDAU.
